Dr. Brenda Stowe spent all of her childhood summers on Lake Winnipesaukee where she fell in love with the Lakes Region. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Tufts University before attending Tufts University of Veterinary Medicine. While in Vet school, she met her husband, Dr. David Stowe (while repairing a Winnipesaukee duck’s fractured leg)!

In 1992 Drs. Brenda and David moved to the Lakes Region and started the Lakes Region Veterinary Hospital. They acquired the Laconia Animal Hospital in 2000. The two hospitals now employee seven veterinarians and 28 lay staff. “I have always had a special interest in reproductive medicine and soft tissue surgery and have developed a strong interest in Laser surgery. Laser surgery has allowed us to offer many soft tissue surgeries previously available only at a referral practice,” comments Dr. Brenda.

Dr. Brenda Stowe spends much of her free time involved in volunteer activities including interviewing applicants to Tufts University, and volunteering in all three of her children’s classes in the Gilford school system. She also enjoys gardening, hiking, and skiing. Dr. Brenda and her husband Dr. David also operate Stonybrook Farm in Gilford where they live with their three children, dogs, cats, horses, chickens, rabbits, and duck Quacky.
